Flow-Tech, a leading Mid-Atlantic representative of fluid properties measurement, building energy management meters, and process control instrumentation is hiring for its Maryland/ Northern Virginia territory. The successful candidate will manage an existing customer base and also be required to develop new clients.
This position will entail day to day sales calls and technical support to Customers throughout Northern Virginia and Southern Maryland. These activities will provide support to our customers from the planned product specification phase through purchase and final installation of our instrumentation products in a wide variety of industries. These industries include the Process/Power Industries, Building Automation, Environmental, Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, and Safety disciplines.
Customer Appointments to explain features and benefits of our equipment. Develop strategic account plans for major account opportunities.
Provide "Pre-Sales" Customer Support: develop an understanding of the application needs to select the appropriate product to satisfy the customer's need.
Prepare Customer Driven Proposal: utilizing internal business systems- develop and generate technical proposals in accordance with the application's specifications
Customer Follow Up: Maintain customer contact and pursue existing proposals to closure of customer orders including Post Sale customer support during installation and start up. Follow up on sales leads and quotations.
Provide updates and reports to corporate management and Manufacturers on actual performance against targets and new opportunities.
Experience selling analytical or process instrumentation or other engineered systems.
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of customers. This includes the ability to develop and present effective and persuasive technical sales presentations or discussions.
Ability to effectively deal with customer issues on both a commercial and technical level. The candidate must also be attentive to detail and possess excellent follow-through skills.
Experience working with a CRM system a plus
An Associates or Bachelors degree or equivalent, in a technical discipline is preferred but not a prerequisite. Strong electro-mechanical aptitude. It is anticipated that a minimum of a year of on the job training, factory training and corporate office training will supplement the daily sales routine.
